This terrific post on the 15 Intriguing Facts about the History of  Informatics from an interesting informatics site Masters in Health Informatics, got me thinking about the following:
 
 
  1. What was the first use of a computer system in pharmacy?
  2. What was the first use of a computer system in hospital pharmacy?
  3. Who first used a computer to check for drug interactions?
  4. When was the first pharmacy claim transmitted electronically?  
  5. Who was the first person to transmit a claim electronically?
  6. Who transmitted the first pharmacy claim over the Internet?
  7. What was the first pharmacy discussion group/list serv/BBS?
  8. What was the first order for medication transmitted via a physician?
  9. What was the first medication that was prepared by a robot?  
  10. Who was the patient that first received a medication made by a robot?
  11. What was the first commercial electronic drug information application?
  12. What was the first commercial hospital pharmacy application?
  13. What was the first commercial retail pharmacy application?
  14. What was the first medication to be transmitted and retrieved from an automated dispensing device?
  15. What was the first pharmacy journal to go fully electronic?

I think I might know the answers to some of these.  The pioneers of Rx informatics are most likely still around and have first hand knowledge of these questions and more.  We should be chronicling these and other early informatic events.  Your thoughts?
